488. Ibn `Abbas and `Imran bin Al-Husain (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "I looked into Jannah and saw that most of its dwellers are the poor; and I looked into Hell and saw that most of its inmates were women.''

I think there's lots of hadiths like that, and some ppl say some are fabricated. So...I wish I had some insight into this! Hopefully someone will comment with some info.
probably because their are more women than men in the world? There is also a hadith that says there will be more women in Jannah than men.
